Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Velokey API, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using Velokey on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the service.
Service Description
Velokey provides a unified API platform that aggregates access to 120+ AI models across text, image, video, and audio modalities from 20+ upstream providers. We offer OpenAI-compatible endpoints, automatic failover routing, usage tracking, and a pay-as-you-go billing system. Service availability depends on upstream provider status and is not guaranteed.
Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and account credentials. All activity under your account, including API calls and credit consumption, is your responsibility. You must notify us immediately at support@velokey.ai if you suspect unauthorized use of your account or API keys.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Velokey API in compliance with all applicable laws and the usage policies of upstream model providers. You must not use the service to generate illegal content, conduct automated attacks, circumvent rate limits, or resell API access without authorization. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Payment and Credits
Velokey uses a credit-based billing system. Credits are consumed based on model-specific pricing, measured in tokens, images, video seconds, or audio duration depending on the model type. Purchased credits do not expire, but promotional credits may carry an expiration date. All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law.
Refund Policy
Consumed Credits are non-refundable. For duplicate charges, billing-system errors, and technical failures caused solely on Velokey's side (excluding normal error responses returned by upstream providers), you may request a refund within 30 days of discovery at support@velokey.ai. Once verified, refunds are returned to the original payment method or as Credits, usually within 7 business days. Promotional Credits are non-refundable.
Service Availability
We target 99.9% availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Availability depends in part on upstream provider status; when an upstream degrades or goes down, we make a best effort to switch to a working node through automatic failover. We reserve the right to maintain, modify, rate-limit, or retire specific models and endpoints where reasonable, and will try to give advance notice of material changes. For unplanned outages, we work to restore service quickly and report status honestly.
Intellectual Property
Velokey retains all rights to the platform, API infrastructure, console interface, documentation, and branding. You retain ownership of any input you send and output you receive through the API. We do not claim any rights to your prompts, model outputs, or application content generated using our service.
Data Usage
The request content you send through the API and the model output you receive belong to you. Velokey passes this data through as a processor to fulfill your request; we do not use it to train our own models, and we do not sell it or share it with unrelated third parties. To complete a call, the request is forwarded to the relevant upstream provider, whose handling of the data is governed by that provider's own policy. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
Third-Party Models
Velokey aggregates AI models from third-party providers, and each model's capabilities, quality, and limits are determined by the respective provider. Model output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular purpose; you should validate it yourself before relying on it, especially in production or decision-making contexts. Using a model means you agree to comply with the applicable terms and usage policies of that model's upstream provider. Providers may change, deprecate, or retire their models, and a model's availability on Velokey will change accordingly.
Limitation of Liability
Velokey is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We are not liable for damages arising from service interruptions, upstream provider outages, model response accuracy, or credit consumption resulting from failed or retried requests. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount of credits you have purchased in the preceding 12 months.
Termination
You may close your account at any time through the console settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, abusive API usage, or non-payment. Upon termination, your API keys are immediately revoked and remaining credits are forfeited unless otherwise required by applicable law.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice in the Velokey console at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
